A NYC Showcase Of Women In EDM

One of the highest grossing festivals ever thrown was the 90’s all female-billed, Lilith Fair. Names like Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple and Natalie Imbruglia joined creator Sara Mclaughlin across the USA to showcase the enormous power that women musicians had at the time.

This event stemmed from Sara’s frustration that she wasn’t getting billed with other women – so she took it into her own hands to make a change.

Fast forward to NYC 2017 and meet Damask & Ashlyn the creators of Eve:

“We simply want to see more women on lineups and we are going to be the force that brings that change. We are hyped about women kicking ass and are here to spotlight and celebrate female and female identifying artists. We are essentially bringing back Lilith Fair in our own sense, but by spotlighting the world of EDM. Change is happening by women coming together and mobilizing. For example, events such as the March on Washington – this event was obviously massive and we are starting local, in our own neighborhood.

We want to give female artists the opportunity in New York City to be booked each month and also give DJs that are traveling to Canada, Philly, Boston or Chicago a midweek destination location in NYC. Our parties will change in genre from House to Bass House to Techno, Bass, Dubstep and hopefully (if we can find you) Riddim.

For our very first EVE event on August 24th we’ve kept it local and free with support from THINX and the NYC Bass Collective label featuring Bad Ginger, Wendy Escobar Kristin Lush. The goal is to book bad ass, bass artists from France like CloZee and our favs from the west coast Smasheltooth and The Librarian -who is also the curator of Bass Coast.

Techno is on the menu for the fall and we are hoping to spotlight local DJ Dischetto and to finish out the year, a DNB show is in the cards with the goal to book DNB queen Reid Speed and LoveLace.

So come out to our event Thursday, August 24, 2017 and dance your ass off to the sounds of these amazing creatures!”
