Earlier this year, the world stood united in disgust when some arsehole dentist from Minnesota paid $45,000 to hunt and kill Cecil the lion. If you need more proof at the outrage he caused, this was Dr. Walter Palmer’s surgery back in August:
In 2015, there is no excuse for hunting. Unless you are starving and need to eat, the only purpose hunting serves is for sick perverts to get there jollies over seeing an animal suffer and die.
If you’re like me, you probably love seeing those stories where a matador gets gored by a bull. And if you’re like me you definitely enjoy the justice in seeing the hunter become the hunted.
Earlier this week, 24 year old Matome Mahlale took part in an illegal hunt with five other men, in a game farm near the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
However, things did not go as planned for Mahlale, when he was attacked by a lion and mauled to death, along with two of his hunting dogs.
Now, I do feel bad for the dogs.
The lion was also able to chase three of the other hunters up a tree, where they awaited rescue.
Now, although police have revealed that the other hunters will not be charged, neither will the lion’s owners.
One local revealed his feelings on the situation, stating;
“There won’t be many people feeling sorry for him. This is seen as poetic justice for the death of Cecil.”
With the police being able to do very little govern the laws of hunting in certain parts of Africa, the few conservationists and a couple of fences really are the only protection these wonderful animals have.
So when they’re backed into a corner, I think it’s only fair when they turn the tables on the hunters.
And if you’re in need of a heart-warming story involving lions, check out what three lions did when they heard a young girl screaming for help.
