Massive Huntsmen Spider Traps Family Inside Their Home
I’ve seen some scary spiders on the Internet, but this is some next level s***. Lauren Ansell from Mount Coolum in Queensland, Australia, was preparing dinner when she saw something peculiar outside her home. In the video below, you can see her husband holding up the family cat to the spider to compare size. Ansell thought the spider was harmless, but appeared to get aggressive once they tried to get it off the door.
“My [husband] was on the outside trying to cook our food. We didn’t want to kill it, but it didn’t like us for trying to move it along,” Ansell said. “It’s still alive and happy. I nicknamed it Aragog. It’s in the garden and we haven’t seen it since. It’s massive and was mean, but it’s alive and we didn’t want to kill it.”
The arachnid is known as a “Huntsmen Spider,” and they only attack humans when they feel as though their egg sacs are in danger of being destroyed. Although they’re not too poisonous to humans, the look of them alone is enough to scare someone to death. You can find these terrifying beasts in warm climate, so keep your eyes peeled if your summer is a particularly hot one.
