Gigantic TV’s have been around for a while now. While the quality and technology has improved, the sizes have remained largely the same.
We’ve gone from LED to OLED to QLED, dipped into 3D and beyond, but the sizes haven’t changed that much. That is, until now. Samsung has unveiled what it is dubbing “The Wall”. This is a 219-inch monster that looks absolutely incredible.
We want one.
This TV was announced at the CEX technology expo in Las Vegas. Tech companies from around the world come here to show off their latest releases and The Wall pretty much stole the show.
Having this TV would really make the next FIFA night pretty special, if you have the place to put it. The quality also goes beyond 4K too, given that Micro LEDs are used.
In a statement, Samsung explained that this TV isn’t just huge, but it also offers new technology:
“These transformative TV displays are made up of individual modules of self-emissive Micro LEDs, featuring millions of inorganic red, green and blue microscopic LED chips that emit their own light to produce brilliant colours on screen.
These next-generation modular Micro LED displays harness self-emitting technology to create elegant, efficient and powerful screens that are liberated from the limitations of existing technologies.”
This version is actually The Wall 2.0, after the original was announced in South Korea last year but that was just a measly 146 inches. Nothing crazy.
A host of other new models were announced too, each of which promises to offer audiences new viewing experiences that push boundaries.
