Very few people like creepy crawlies. They are unpredictable, look pretty strange, and they’re often associated with dirty environments.
Thankfully, many people have the means to put up pretty effective barriers between themselves and those bugs. It’s not too common to find them wandering around your home anymore, and many people are very thankful that’s the case.
(It should be said that despite their creepy appearance, they play an absolutely essential role in the food chain and their dwindling numbers are cause for serious concern.)
One unfortunate lady from India, though, had been complaining of headaches for a while. “Acute ear ache followed by sharp pains” inspired her to go and visit her doctor in Karnataka.
It was there that her doctor, Dr. Santosh Shivaswamy, made the horrifying discovery. There was indeed an eight-legged spider that had set up shop in her ear.
In a way, it kind of makes sense. The environment is dark, warm, safe… Oh god…
For some people, this would truly be their worst nightmare. Dr. Shivaswamy explained that it is common for his patients to come with various objects lodged in their ears, but it was the first time he had seen this particular issue.
We feel for the patient and hope that she makes a full and speedy recovery. Excuse me while I find my earphones, put them in my ears, and never remove them again. Ever.
