Lil Wayne Officially Announces ‘Tha Carter V’ Release Date

Watch Full Video Announcement From Wayne Below

Lil Wayne, it’s been 10 years since ‘Tha Carter III’ in what was and is regarded as his best album to date.

It’s been 6 years since 2012, when ‘Tha Carter V’ was announced as his final album. Fans have waited 6 years, eventually believing that there might not even be an album at all. Even last week there was a scare when the album was supposed to drop, and like many times in the past – fans we’re let down.

However, we wait no longer! Lil Wayne took to social to make the big announcement, and in a video seen below, Wayne personally confirms that this week is the week.

The day he’s dropping it is his birthday, which happens to fall on Thursday, September 27th. Only digital copies will be available then, with full hard copies to be released on Friday September 28th.

Wayne says in the video above:
“Y’all hung in there with me for the last 30 millions […] I can’t do nothing but thank y’all for all the love and all the passion and every ounce of everything I have left in my heart,”

He goes on:
“It goes to y’all, honesty: my fans, my supporters, the world […] I am nothing, absolutely nothing, without my fans. I hope you guys love this album […] With this album, I’m giving you more than me. You gotta always remember that this is years of work […] that you’ll hopefully be listening to”

Wayne is set to go on tour in 2019, and we can’t wait. More details about who’s on the album (rumor is Drake of course) to be released as they come in!

In other Hip Hop news…. Remy Ma finally puts Joe Budden in his place after his recent tirade on Revolt Tv’s State of The Culture. After his comments about Eminem, saying he has been better for the last decade, this is what we have all been waiting for..

What’s next Joe saying he is better than Lil Wayne?

Also on our hip hop release radar is Pittsburgh’s fun loving Goldsmith and his latest release with incredible talent Suzanne Sheer, titled “Front Street Blues”. Give it a listen if your looking for a refreshing vibe away from today’s mumble rap.

Goldsmith is undoubtedly on the come up, next in line to break through. You can catch him at this year’s AC3 Festival in Atlanta, October 6th.
